Notes:
The 1889-CC Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the rarest and most
desirable dates in the entire series. Uncirculated examples
are rare and expensive; Gems are extremely rare. Prooflike
examples appear just as frequently as non-Prooflikes, but they
usually fetch a handsome premium. The
typical Uncirculated grade is MS-62, followed by MS-63 and MS-62, in that
order.
The finest examples graded
by PCGS are a single MS-68 (a full three points ahead of the
next lowest grade - a single MS-65), 3 MS-64 Prooflikes, and 20 MS-64
Deep Mirror Prooflikes.
