The finest Uncirculated examples graded by PCGS are 3 MS-64's.
In
August, 2004, NGC published a partial population report of gold coins
recovered from the shipwrecked SS Republic. Included were 104
1852 Double Eagles, ranging in grade from Very Fine to MS-62. 11 of
the coins were listed as "Doubled Date".
