"Second year of issue and somewhat saved. 1893-P is much tougher than
its 1892 counterpart, but is still readily available. This issue and the
1893-S come well struck, the S-mint particularly so. However, finding a
1893-O with a good strike is not easy. The 1893-P & O have satiny
finishes and the 1893-S will often come proof-like."
"If you find an 1893-O with a
decent strike, buy it. We believe the 1893-S is underrated. The 1893/2 of
course is quite rare and, even if you are not a variety collector, you
should buy one if it becomes available."1
The finest Uncirculated example graded by PCGS is a
single MS-68.
